Allison I love your enthusiasm for Region D and membership increase and retention. I know that I myself took a year long break from SWE to focus on work, my graduate degree, and my wedding. I think that the SWE buddies is a great way to increase membership. I also think that communication is key to ensuring a healthy region. From my SWE experiences, communication has been a huge factor in determining the number of people who come to a meeting. Without communication and section wide acceptance of members, the leadership is unable to determine program and/or section needs!

This blog is the first step in communication! I stumbled upon it via the 1st Region D newsletter! Look forward to great communiques to come!

I also am wondering how we can check out points and see if we are blogging. Also, I can't find where the annual report is for me to fill out. We just elected our officers; I just need to know where the info should go! Thanks!!

This seems like a nice/simple way to really execute and follow through with an event (and easy to remember). All ways following up with an event and making sure everyone leaves satisfied is something for all groups to work on.

I'm going to have to look more into the MASWE. I didn't know that group had a name. Our section has many males in its group (about half of us). I know they'll be interested in hearing more about this.
I have a deep appreciation for the men that are involved with SWE. I feel like we've really accomplished a SWE goal by gaining so much support from men towards our cause. SWE is forming into a group that isn't quite so segregated anymore. Mission accomplished!
